ETOFUL 90 Tablet is a pain-relieving medicine. It is used for relieving moderate pain and swelling of joints associated with different forms of gout and arthritis. It effectively alleviates pain, redness, and swelling.

ETOFUL 90 Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. ETOFUL 90 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

The most common side effect of this medicine is abdominal pain. You may also experience other side effects like constipation, flatulence, heartburn, diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, esophagitis, oral ulcer, edema, dizziness, headache, palpitations, arrhythmia, high blood pressure, bronchospasm, increased liver enzymes, fatigue, bruises, and flu-like-symptoms. WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE ETOFUL TABLET?

If you miss a dose of ETOFUL 90 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

 

 

Q. What is ETOFUL 90 Tablet used for?

ETOFUL 90 Tablet is used to reduce the pain and swelling (inflammation) in the joints and muscles of people 16 years of age and older with rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout. ETOFUL 90 Tablet is also used for the short term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery in people 16 years of age and older.

Q. Is it safe to use ETOFUL 90 Tablet?

ETOFUL  90 Tablet is safe for most patients. However, in some patients, it may cause some unwanted side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fatigue, diarrhea, etc. Inform your doctor if you experience any persistent problem due to this medication.

Q. Can I stop taking ETOFUL  90 Tablet when my pain is relieved?

ETOFUL  90 Tablet should be continued as advised by your doctor, if you are using the medicine for a condition associated with long-term pain. It can be discontinued if you are using it for short-term pain relief.

Q. Can the use of ETOFUL  90 Tablet cause nausea and vomiting?

Yes, the use of ETOFUL  90 Tablet may cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine or a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to your doctor.

Yes, the use of ETOFUL  90 Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, do not drive or use any machines. It is better to rest for sometime and resume once you feel better.

Q. Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of ETOFUL  90 Tablet?

The use of ETOFUL  90 Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to any of the components of this medicine. It should be avoided in patients with known allergy to other painkillers (NSAIDs). The use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or in patients with active or recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease.

No, ETOFUL  90 Tablet should not be taken for stomach pain without consulting a physician. This drug can increase stomach acid secretion which may aggravate an unknown underlying condition.

Q. Can the use of ETOFUL 90 Tablet cause damage to kidneys?

Yes, the long-term use of ETOFUL  90 Tablet can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protect the kidneys from damage. Use of painkillers lowers the levels of prostaglandins in the body, leading to kidney damage because of long-term use. Therefore, the use of painkillers is not recommended in patients with underlying kidney disease.

Q. Is it safe to take a higher than the recommended dose of ETOFUL 90 Tablet ?

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of ETOFUL  90 Tablet can increase the risks of side effects like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, indigestion and diarrhea. In fact, using this medicine for a long-term can also damage your kidneys on long-term use. If you are experiencing increased severity of pain or if the pain is not relieved by the recommended doses of this medicine, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.

Q. Can ETOFUL  90 Tablet cause high blood pressure?

Yes. ETOFUL 90 Tablet can increase blood pressure in some people, especially in high doses, and your doctor may advise you to check your blood pressure at home or even monitor it from time to time. If you have high blood pressure that has not been controlled by treatment, you must inform your doctor before starting treatment with ETOFUL 90 Tablet, to avoid any mishap.

Q. How long do I need to take ETOFUL  90 Tablet?

You need to take ETOFUL 90 Tablet as long as your doctor recommends taking it. For dental pain, it is usually prescribed for 3 days, but if it is being used for acute pain conditions then it should be given as long as the pain lasts and not exceeding 8 days. Usually, for arthritis, it is prescribed for long-term use, which may vary from person to person.

Q. How should ETOFUL 90 Tablet be taken?

Take ETOFUL 90 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. ETOFUL  90 Tablet can be taken with or without food. Taking the medicine without food can enhance the working of the medicine. Furthermore, do not exceed the dose recommended by your doctor.

Q. Does ETOFUL  90 Tablet cause sleepiness?

In some patients ETOFUL  90 Tablet causes sleepiness, feeling of spinning (vertigo), and dizziness. If one experiences these symptoms then driving or operating machinery should be avoided.

Taking ETOFUL  90 Tablet with birth control pills and hormonal replacement therapy may increase the chances of side effects. Hence, consult the doctor who will suggest an alternative method of birth control.

Q. Can I take aspirin while taking ETOFUL  90 Tablet?

Aspirin can be taken in low doses when you are using it for the prevention of stroke and heart attack. You should not stop low-dose aspirin without talking to your doctor. It is advised that while taking ETOFUL  90 Tablet you should not take high doses of aspirin and other anti-inflammatory medicines, as they may increase your risk of stomach ulcers.

Pain relief has been observed after about 4 hours of starting ETOFUL  90 Tablet. Full effect may take a little longer and may vary from person to person.
